- M-Reports Now Offers Financial Trend Reporting!
Two new Source/Use reports are now available in M-Reports that allow you to view revenue and expense trends over time for your department/department group:
-- Source/Use At-A-Glance - displays revenue and expense levels for the current and four prior fiscal years, using bar graphs, line graphs, and percentages to enable quick comparisons.
-- Source/Use Projections - provides a revenue/expense comparison for the current and three prior fiscal years as of an Accounting Period (e.g., JULY 2009). Projected amounts are based on prior fiscal year trends.With M-Reports you can:
-- Identify trends by Source/Use category over multiple fiscal years.
-- Link to underlying transaction detail, including, payroll, benefits, student financials, invoices, and vouchers (Projections report only).
-- Select various groups of departments within a school, college, or department group to facilitate reporting and analysis.
-- View Source/Use data by all Funds, one Fund, or a Fund Group.Access M-Reports on Wolverine Access. The navigation path is: University Business > Reporting > M-Reports. Once in M-Reports, click the FIN. MGMT tab and select from the Source/Use options in left navigation menu.
Remember, your uniqname, UMICH Kerberos password, and MToken are required to log into M-Reports. If you are a faculty member without an MToken, check the āI donāt have an MTokenā checkbox on the Weblogin screen. To obtain an MToken, visit an MToken Distribution Center

M-Reports, a business intelligence reporting application, now provides online financial reports for UM-Funded, Gift, and Other projects. These reports give Research Project Investigators and Administrators a more complete view of "non-sponsored" projects' financial status.
BENEFITS
Those who already use M-Reports to view sponsored project financial reports, find the system intuitive and the financial detail beneficial.The āat-a-glanceā reports for ānon-sponsoredā projects allow you to quickly:
-- Identify high-level balances for your project/grant(s)
-- Review revenue, expenditure, and projections for future project commitments (e.g., salary, benefits, financial aid)
-- Determine if UM-Funded, Gift, or Other project/grants should be closed due to inactivity. (To close a project, see the Unit Defined Project/Grant Maintenance Form on the Financial Operations Web site.)FEATURES
Once in M-Reports, click the FIN. MGMT tab to:
-- Obtain official and projected balances for your open ānon-sponsoredā projects from the Summary of Projects Report.
-- View a project's balance by revenue or expense account (appropriations, staff salaries, communications, etc.) on the Project Grant Activity Report.
-- Link to the underlying transaction detail, such as vouchers and estimated future salary expenditures.
