- Re: Scrum/Agile
Thanks very much David! It makes sense to associate the PUC's with
the user stories. It sparked a few more questions to draw on your or the group's
experience:
-- Does the entire scrum team work together to ferret and flesh out
the requirements?
-- How have you seen the role of the business analyst change? - Re: Scrum/Agile
CrowMy suggestion:
- use Volere to add discipline to your requirements engineering.
- use a lean approach (scrum) to decide when you will write your
requirements.Scrum puts all work to be done in a product backlog. A list of stories
that deliver value (a slice of functionality) to the user. Volere - Scrum/Agile
Hi -- I'm a business analyst at a commercial software company. My
company is beginning to use scrum to develop a new product in an
existing market. I'm interested to hear from others who have
experience with this process. Candidly, I've read a bit on the 'net
and am more confused.- Is there a place for traditional functional requirement statements

Hi,
Can u plz provide a case study for volere process model - Re: Gathering requirements for a Non-technological project
James,I think the product is in fact the program itself. One of the
objectives of gathering the requirements is following the
specification as a template to take into account when creating a new
program.Respecting Student Affairs, this has no relation with romance :P, it
actually refers to the advising process of the students, enrollment, - Re: Gathering requirements for a Non-technological project
Denis,
You have to be very clear on the goal of the project. Does the
professor want the requirements for "the creation of a new academic
program", or the requirements for "an academic program"? It seems a
small difference but it is significant.
The same question as above. Is it really the program that is to be the - Gathering requirements for a Non-technological project
Hi,As part of a project in a graduate course of System Analysis, the
professor has defined a final project for all the class which consists
in gathering the requirements for the creation of a new Academic
Program for the College of General Studies on our University. The
professor has divided the whole project in 5 areas, each one is - Re: Context Diagrams in requirements
Yes, and normally it's the future work context diagram that you will use as
the basis for doing an event partitioning of the business that you are
studying. You will also benefit from doing a scope diagram for the product,
the part of the work for which you intend to build a product - usually
sofware. Have a look at the Volere template Section 7 Work Scope, Section 8 - Re: Context Diagrams in requirements
Ok. So you would recommend doing a context diagram for both currnet
and future states. Assuming there is a current state. Thanks

- Re: Context Diagrams in requirements
Current Business
There are 4 useful Context viewpoints:
A - Current Business
B - Current Product
C - Future Business
D - Future Product
Clearly one wants to get to C and D. Often it is necessary to do some work
on A and B in order to understand and communicate what needs to be
changed/improved and thereby discover the scope of the requirements. - Re: Context Diagrams in requirements
Jack,
it is worth doing the context for the current state just to make sure
that you and your clients are starting from the same place. Remember
that we are talking about the business to be studied here, not just
the product to be built. I am certain that it will save you time by
ensuring that you are operating in the right business area from the - Context Diagrams in requirements
A number of projects I involved new processes being implemented by the
business. My question is-In a requirements document should we use a Context diagram for both
the current state (i.e. how it is now) and the future state? Or should
we not worry about the current and create a Context diagram (and - Re: Electronic Snow Card
I recently made some updates to this program and the new version is
available via the same link. With the installer comes a demo database
with a few req. examples. The program uses a predefined database file
that gets copied if new project is created.Because i have developed it mainly for my bachelors degree, i wouln't
- Re: Electronic Snow Card
Hi Karl!
I played with your version of the snow card and it seems to be fairly
complete.
I couldn't find any documentation on it so I was unsure on a few
items:
1. Does the database file that needs to be attached has to have a
predefined format (tables, etc) or does it get created on the fly?
