Senior Business Analyst ¿ Risk Control Summary Main function is Report Generation and Data Integrity in support of Risk Controls Monthly Book and Financial Chargeback information. The position requires one to work directly with upper management to provide accurate timely reports for Field and Specialist as well as insure the integrity of the data. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Monthly Production Support
* Data validation, Testing and checkout. Data & Metadata modeling using Cognos Framework Manager. Report Development, maintenance, and troubleshooting using Cognos 8.2 Report Studio, Query Studio,Teradata, AWA, Access, Excel. Job creation and scheduling in Cognos. Complex SQL coding and troubleshooting. Business and reporting process enhancements. Ad hoc reporting requests. Presentation/ Delivery of data and reports to management and business partners. Educate Field Managers on report types and field derivations. Work directly with management, business, and IT partners to create and deliver accurate and timely reports. Develop detailed business requirements and carry out project tasks. Serve as lead on business and reporting process improvement efforts. Work Experience Minimum of 3-5 years work experience. 3+ years writing & troubleshooting SQL is a must. Minimum of 2-3 years experience with Cognos 8 (8.2 preferred), Framework Manager, Report Studio. Expertise in Microsoft Excel and pivot tables. 3+ years working with relational and/or dimensional databases. SQL Server/Teradata experience preferred. Conceptual knowledge of ETL Processing and data loads. Working knowledge of Microsoft Access, in-depth experience a plus. Knowledge of Data Transformation Services a plus. Financial awareness and basic system knowledge a plus. BS or BA degree or equivalent experience. SUMMARY:
Develops detailed business requirements and carries out the project tasks required for the development, design, testing, implementation, and continuing operation of automated departmental systems. May assist less experienced analysts in completing tasks.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
Under minimal supervision, coordinates information systems changes and implementation processes Analyzes requirements and specifications Produces project documentation including formal proposals and schedules, systems requirement manuals and testing plans Translates end user computer requirements for use by the department Prioritizes assigned request enhancements and directs staff activities accordingly Coordinates changes in project priority level, reworking schedules as necessary Communicates system changes and processes to end users, documenting processes Trouble-shoots system failures and effectively resolves discrepancies Participates in identification, evaluation, and implementation of system recovery solutions Provides off-shift support as necessary Communicates testing discrepancies to impacted areas and monitors resolution
