- eHelp Tutorials
A Computer Information Systems senior project team consisting of I&IT and Cal Poly Pomona student assistants developed interactive multimedia presentations to assist students, faculty, staff and prospective members of the campus community with Cal Poly Pomona's BroncoDirect system.
Many of the tutorials can be viewed within BroncoDirect or via the following links:
The senior project team with the help of I&IT Learning, I&IT Support and the Registrar's Office brainstormed and developed several online tutorials using Adobe Breeze and Captivate.
Besides developing useful tutorials for the campus community, the other main goal for this project was to create a framework for using Breeze and Captivate in a university environment. As part of the project, the team developed documentation and training materials that are used to train staff members of I&IT Support on how to use Breeze and Captivate for training or teaching purposes. - Live Commencement Broadcast
The commencement ceremonies signify the graduation of students at Cal Poly Pomona by awarding their degrees. Every Spring, I&IT Learning's Mediavision webcasts the Cal Poly Pomona commencement ceremonies providing live coverage and on demand streaming video to viewers throughout the world.
A total functional success for our 2006 Commencement as we graduated 3,379 students and our webcast was viewed in 79 countries around the world over 36,000 times! This year's broadcast was not only a success but an improvement from previous broadcasts. We were able to bring great quality video through two new production methods. First we were able to coordinate the lighting of the stage to be tailor made for high quality video recording. The second way we were able to improve our quality was through on-site video calibration via a custom made mobile rack nicknamed 'Mini-me' which worked in conjunction with our Mobil Streaming Unit (MSU) to provide a superior video broadcast. - MA in Educational Multimedia
When the College of Education & Integrative Studies needed a presence on the internet for their Masters in Educational Multimedia Program, they turned to I&IT Learning for a creative solution.
The Educational Multimedia program offers coursework that leads to a Master's degree in Education. It's focus is on the creative integration of graphics, animation, video, audio, text, and interactivity for educational and trainining settings based on the sound principles of instructional design.
This program is designed as a two-year graduate degree program for working professionals with flexibility for those who are interested in completing their degree quicker or over a longer period of time.
The program's website now serves as a marketing tool as well as an inspiration to it's existing and future students on the creative use of multimedia for delivering information.
"I found them to be very creative, highly experienced, extremely knowledgeable not just technically but in terms of project management, and kept a very professional but friendly relationship throughout the work until it was completed " said Dr.Shannaz Lotfipour, Professor of Educational Multimedia and Co-Chair of the Department of Education, after the project was completed.
"...the web site is so professional; the graphics, the design, the interactivity... it will definitely help to attract more students to the program."
