Today is our first day on our new server. It's got speed and a few interesting little Quirks.
Poor Whit can't seem to see his blog post. I can see it, I think other's can see it but he can't see it. Any ideas? I'm thinking he needs to refresh his browser, but I'm not exactly the sharpest tack when it comes to computers. I'm sure he would appreciate all the help he can get.
This morning I went to Bella's, she has a very interesting post up. She has pictures of what I must say is the ultimate chia pet. Don't laugh but there was a time when I kept asking for one for Christmas. Wiser heads than mine prevailed and I never did get one. I gave one to my Mom one year. Found it stuffed away in her closet, still unopened in the box. At least it wasn't set out where dust collected on it.
Anyways, while on Bella's page I was seeing html code in her post. She fixed it (sort of) and I did see the picture on the second try but still with one sentence of html code both above and below the section. I copied it and left her another comment including the copy/paste. Even in her comment section she can't see the html code. I do when I read the comment, but she doesn't.
When I went to Scratch's place the pictures from his last two posts have been replaced by an outline where the pictures were yesterday, and up in the left corner a little white box with a red x in it. Those pictures were from his gallery I thought, only they aren't in his gallery either. Now I know I saw pictures there yesterday.
Today is the day I'm due to renew my Premium Membership. In the past on that day a link to PayPal miraculously occurs on my account page. Today there is no such link. Not wanting to bother Pioneer I decided to go to PayPal and pay my dues so to speak. Apparently I can't any more. It won't accept my email as valid. Took me a few minutes to understand that since I'm not a member of PayPal my email isn't valid to them. They have no account connected to my email so it's not valid. I have notified Pioneer and am patiently waiting instructions.
Given all that has happened today in my corner of the Blogstream world, it would take a very brave (or foolish) person to do an entire post in the Blogstream Post Editor without backing it up on either Word or some other feature. Well, I'm pretty foolish sometimes. What good is life if you can't do silly things once in awhile?
The title of todays post came from an alphabetical list of topics we could blog about that I gave to Biggie T from the Dog House yesterday in my NO ELECTION talk on my blog post. I'm sure Scratch would much prefer Boobs, but I guess he'll have to wait.

And if you don't listen to me

We all have our opinions

But this is MY Blog and MY choice.

And this is what I say

Oh, and one last thing

Thank You - Led Zeppelin
A conversation with my step-mother yesterday could have gone horribly wrong had we not been family. She supported McCain/Palin and had assumed I did as well. Her remark..."So, what did you think of the election?"..should have made me stop and think before answering. Dad and I were the lone Democrats in a Republican family and I know that he wouldn't have voted for Obama either. Sad to say, although the years had tempered it, Daddy was a racist. He would have secretly agreed with everything President Elect Obama wants to change in our country, I don't believe he would have been able to get past the color of his skin and vote for him. I heard myself say "Oh, I think it's fine, I voted for Senator Obama". (shut up, shut up, shut up, shut up).You have no idea what the tone of a human voice can convey in one simple word, over the phone, until you hear it from someone who thinks you are out of your mind. That word was "WHY!". Followed immediately by the sound of someone having difficulty breathing (her) and of someone choking (me). I am the poster child for foot in mouth disease. Although in my own defense, it's an easy affliction to acquire in my family. Especially when our thoughts are so entirely different when it comes to politics, and unfortunately race.Without insulting the McCain/Palin ticket and while praying (Please Lord, strike me dead now!) I simply said that we needed a change from the Republican policies that are in place at the moment. While they aren't the cause of our economic situation, they continue to contribute to it due to what I feel is a lack of understanding of the situation. I have seen no evidence of big corporations creating jobs in response to the big tax breaks they receive. (Please Lord, if you won't strike me dead now, will you at least hit the phone lines with a big tree?) HELP! Imagine my shock when she told me she voted for McCain/Palin but she thinks my reasons for doing otherwise are understandable? (Whew!). Beyond the initial standing on a banana peel at the edge of a yawning chasm (without a parachute) sensation, the conversation pretty much centered around hope and change. She and the rest of my paternal family may be Republican Conservative, but they aren't die hard right wing. I may be the lone Democrat, but I'm not a flaming Liberal. We are all pretty Moderate with the exception of two of my brothers. In her words..."They're just big mouthed idiots." A mother has a right to her opinions regarding her offspring. I'm just keeping my mouth shut and my head on my shoulders and NOT on a platter. I'm not even going there, I ain't stupid. Our rather lengthy conversation yielded some positive admissions on both our parts and we both have come away from it with a greater understanding of ourselves. Not just our differences, but our similarities as well. We want the same things. We want to see my brother make a go of the contracting business he started last year. We want to see a stronger economy so he may do so. We want to see a cure for Epidemolysis Bullosa (Butterfly Children) and without money for research that may not be possible. It may not be possible without stem cell research, and we both decided to cross that bridge if and when we get to it. Since both of our Butterfly Children must rely on state assistance and programs in order to live with whatever comfort they can, we both want to see enough funds for those program
